Russian Viktor Lakhin, who plays for the Clemson Tigers’ NCAA team, spoke to about how he envisions his career after he finishes playing in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
The Russian center helped the Clemson Tigers beat Eastern Kentucky on Tuesday. Lakhin spent 29 minutes on the floor and scored 19 points, and also had 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocked shots.
— What do you think of your spectacular and efficient play in the last game against Eastern Kentucky, where you scored a double-double?
“It’s always nice to get a double-double.” But above all, it’s good that the team won. Also, at one point we lost four points. Well, my personal performance gives me confidence when acclimating to a new team. I discover a lot of new things from game to game, and I feel more and more comfortable and understandable while playing.
— Do you hope to enter the NBA draft soon? Overall, how do you see your future after the NCAA?
— Yes, I hope that after this season I will participate in the draft and continue my career in the NBA. And otherwise, in a very good team in Europe.
— Egor Demin had a successful NCAA debut. Do you communicate with him?
— No, I don’t communicate with Demin, but I am very happy with his success. I see how he plays, I hope he does the same in the future,” Lakhin told .
Previously, Lakhin played for FC Cincinnati; the Russian is in his fourth season in the NCAA. The 23-year-old basketball player graduated from CSKA.
