Love, 81, had been battling cancer for a long time.

In addition to Chicago, for which Bob Love played from 1968 to 1976, he also played for the Trenton Colonials, Cincinnati Royals, Milwaukee Bucks, New York Nets and Seattle SuperSonics.

Love was an NBA All-Star in 1971, 1972 and 1973.

In total, Bob Love played 789 games during his NBA career, in which he scored 13,895 points (an average of 17.6 per game), made 4,653 rebounds, 1,123 assists, 232 steals and 56 blocked shots.

In January 1994, Love became the second player in Chicago Bulls history to have his jersey number retired.
