The blue-yellows occupy last place in Group A of the EuroBasket 2025 selection
Head coach Ukrainian national basketball team Vitaly Stepanovsky commented on the defeat from Israel (73:86) in the third round of qualifying for EuroBasket 2025.
“First of all, I want to say that we made three ridiculous mistakes in the third quarter. We were low against their shooter and he used it to score. Israel received a handicap, which was very difficult for us to level against such a good team.”
“We tried eight different defenses but lost by -13. We will show our best in the next match,” the coach said.
The teams fought evenly in the first half of the match. The Ukrainian team lost the third quarter outright (18:29), after which Israel managed to maintain the advantage until the very end.
Ukraine continues to remain an outsider in its Quartet A – it lost all three matches. Let us remind you that in February the blue-yellows lost away to Slovenia (73:87), and then lost to Portugal (77:79).
The Ukrainian team will also play its next match against Israel. This game will take place on November 25 and will again take place in Riga.
