NCAA Coach Young on Demin: ’80 to 90 NBA scouts and executives came to our practices and games’

Kevin Young, coach of the Brigham Young University (BYU) team, for which the Russian basketball player plays in the NCAA Egor Demine said about 90 scouts and club executives from the National Basketball Association (NBA) came to watch the team’s games.

In November 2024, Demin, 18, was named NCAA Big 12 Conference Most Outstanding Newcomer of the Week twice in a row.

“I’m certainly not a draft expert, but I’ve followed them closely for many years, been a part of the process and obviously know a lot of people in the NBA. I think he’s off to a good start. 80 to 90 NBA scouts and executives came to our practices and games. So, you know, he’ll have every opportunity to show what he can do.

Our style of play gives him the opportunity to showcase his strengths. So we’ll see. I think he still has something to prove. But he has already managed to improve his chances compared to what he had before the start of the season.

And, you know, it’ll be interesting for me to watch all that. But he’s really focused on helping us win games, and the rest will take care of itself,” Young was quoted as saying by Championship.
