The competition system for the 2022/23 season has been determined
Basketball Federation of Ukraine (FBU) published regulations holding competitions in Super League season 2022/23.
The entire tournament will be divided into two stages. At the first stage, the clubs will play each other in three rounds. In the second stage, the clubs ranked from 1 to 6 will compete for the championship title in the “Final Six” within three days.
Quarter-final pairs will be made up of teams that have taken 3rd-6th places in the regular season. In the semi-finals, the two remaining teams, the leaders of the regular season, will enter the fight. On the same day, the match for 5th place will also take place.
On the final day of the Final Six, two games will be held – a meeting for the 3rd place of the Ukrainian Championship 2022/23 and the final, which will determine the champion of the country.
Earlier, FBU President Mikhail Brodsky revealed the details of the new national championship. According to him, the federation plans to use the bubble format that was used during the coronavirus pandemic.
It is known that six clubs have already confirmed their participation in the new season: Prometheus, Budivelnik, Kyiv-Basket, Zaporozhye, Cherkasy Mavpy and Staryi Lutsk.
The 2021-22 season in the Super League was stopped due to a full-scale Russian invasion in February at the regular season stage. The winners at the end of the season were not awarded.
