Five-time National Basketball Association (NBA) champion Denis Rodman intends to come to Russia to help an American basketball player convicted of drug trafficking Britney Griner .
“I got permission to go to Russia to help this girl. I will try to leave this week,” Rodman said, as quoted by NBC.
On August 4, Greiner was sentenced by the Khimki city court to 9 years in general prison in a drug trafficking case, as well as a fine of 1 million rubles. An American athlete was arrested trying to smuggle hash oil through Sheremetyevo airport in February.
