CSKA basketball president Vatutin spoke about the dispute with the legionnaires who left the club

President of the Moscow Basketball Club CSKA Andrey Vatutin told how the situation is developing with disputes against players who have decided to leave the team.

The club notably left the German Johannes Vogtmann, who has Russian nationality Joel Bolomboy and Canadian Kevin Pangos. In April, Bolomboy published a letter in which he stated that he was not going to return to CSKA premises. In July, he moved to Greek Olympiacos.

– We have submitted all the necessary documents to the FIBA (International Basketball Federation) Court of Arbitration, now the process of preparing for the examination of the cases is underway. The dates have not yet been set. For the moment, FIBA, despite the current contract, has recognized Kevin Pangos as free from any obligation towards us. I know the reason for this decision, but I can only remind you of the boomerang effect: the precedent of the effective cancellation of the signed agreement can somehow be used by someone in the future. Life will show. In fact, we still have a pending situation with the current contract of the German Johannes Vogtmann, we are awaiting the decision of the FIBA court. Bolomboy unilaterally terminated the contract, which expired in the summer, and as much as possible here you can count on the decision of the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal on compensation, Vatutin told Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
