Athletistic/Basketball. Former Russian national team basketball player Becky Hammon has become the best women’s NBA coach of the year, reports the League’s press service.

Hammon, currently in charge of Las Vegas, became the first former player in tournament history to become the top coach in her rookie season.

“Las Vegas” under the leadership of Hammon won the regular season, setting a club record along the way, and has already reached the WNBA semifinals.

In 2008, Hammon received Russian citizenship. With the national team, she won a silver medal at the Olympics and a bronze at the European Championship.
