The Raptors turned down a player
Ukrainian basketball player Svyatoslav Mikhailyuk will not represent Toronto Raptors in the coming season NBA 2022/23.
According to insider Shams Charania, the Raptors management decided to refuse the player’s services. At the moment, Mikhailyuk is already looking for a new team.
It should be noted that in June Mikhailyuk took advantage of the player option and extended his contract with the Raptors. His salary in the Toronto camp was to be $1.9 million.
The player moved to the Toronto camp in August last year. Mikhailyuk played 56 games for the Raptors last season, averaging 4.6 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.
Last season was the fourth for the Ukrainian in the NBA. The Raptors and Mikhailyuk advanced to the NBA Playoffs, where they were eliminated in the first round by the Philadelphia 76ers (2:4).
Mikhailyuk is now at the disposal of the Ukrainian national team, with which he will take part in EuroBasket 2022. The first game of the blue-yellows in the event is scheduled for September 2.
The new 2022-23 NBA season will begin on October 18, 2022 and run until April 9, 2023. The NBA All-Star Game is scheduled for February 19 next year and will take place at the Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City.
