The women’s team of the Sverdlovsk region defeated the team of the Samara region in the first match of the group stage of the basketball tournament of the All-Russian Summer Sports Spartakiad among the strongest athletes in 2022.
The Group G match ended with a score of 78:58 (19:15, 19:9, 18:8, 22:26). Ksenia Tikhonenko became the most productive player among the winners, who scored 21 points and added 10 rebounds. Anna Zaitseva scored a double-double for the Samara region team: 14 points, 10 rebounds.
In the other matches of the day, the team of the Komi Republic defeated the team of the Orenburg region (65:62). Basketball players from Moscow lost to the team from the Kursk region (66:74), the team from the Moscow region beat the team from the Rostov region (80:61).
The Spartakiad women’s basketball tournament runs from August 30 to September 5 in Moscow.
