The NBA superstar recently went through a very dark phase in his life, as he recounted in an interview with the Salvation Army of Wake County. The loss of relatives, injuries and the pandemic made him think of ending his life.
On July 1, 2022, the transfer of John Wall from the Houston Rockets to the LA Clipperswith a two-year contract. The base, 31 years old, reached the NBA What 2010 draft number 1 and chosen by Washington Wizards. He played there for nine seasons before heading to the Texan franchise.
John Wall played 40 games in three seasons, all in 2020-21; none in 2019-20 and 2021-22. “This is the darkest place I’ve ever been. I mean… I even thought about suicide. I tore my Achilles tendon, my mother was sick and ended up dying, my grandmother died a year later… all while dealing with COVID. I went through chemotherapy with my mom, I saw her breathe for days without changing her clothes as I joined her on the sofa.said in an interview with Salvation Army of Wake County.
Wall will be one of the highest paid players of the season, as he will receive 6.4 million dollars from the Clippers and he already received 40.8 from the Rockets. In total, in the last three seasons he received 123.7 million dollars for 40 games played.
“If I can get through this, I can get through anything in life… I want to go back to the top and see that the fans still want me to play… The support of my people and everyone means a lot . . . On that road I had to get a therapist, you know, a lot of people think, ‘I don’t need help. I can get over this at any time.’ But you have to be true to yourself and figure out what’s best for you. I did.”he concluded.
