Basketball AmeriCup 2022: what’s the format
The tournament will be played in two rounds. In the first group stage, the twelve participating teams were divided into three groups (A, B and C) of four teams each. Teams play, in a round robin system, once against each opponent in the group. At the end of this phase, the two best teams in each group and the two best third parties qualify for the quarterfinals.
The final stage is by direct elimination from a game. The four quarter-final winners advance to the semi-finals, where their losers play a match for third place, while the winners play in the final.
