Bigman believes that it was possible to win due to the desire of the players
Bigman national team Ukraine Volodymyr Gerun was satisfied with the outcome of the second match on EuroBasket 2022 with Estonia, but noted the problems the team faced.
“I’m happy with the result, but not very happy with the quality of the game. But we have put ourselves in this situation. The hall was charged, many people came to support the Estonians. They played like they were at home and had a lot of success at the start.”
“Estonians understand that there are leaders in the group. And if there are matches that they should win, then they considered the duel with Ukraine to be such. But we didn’t let them win.”
“We didn’t have a lot of quality. We won due to the desire of the players. I am happy with my game. I could have played better somewhere, but the main thing is that we won. Hopefully we can improve our game.”
Ukraine beat Estonia in the second match at EuroBasket 2022. In the first round, the blue-yellows defeated Great Britain (90:61).
Ainars Bagatskis’ team will play their next match against Italy on 5 September. The beginning is at 22:00 Kyiv time.
The Blue-Yellows will also face Greece (September 6) and Croatia (September 8) in the group stage. The four best teams from the group will advance to the 1/8 finals.
