– I think so. In the fourth quarter, until the very end, I said to myself: “What if we miss it?” That’s it, the gold medal is already close, but until the last minutes I was afraid that if we relax, now we lose everything. But no, we are great. The team came together in a big break and snatched victory in the final. I’m shocked!
– A completely different team from Moscow entered the second half. What changed?
“We had a recession. Probably, fatigue accumulated during the tournament.
– How do you explain your outperformance?
Everything they give me, I throw away. I hope I will continue to enter.
– You were part of the symbolic five of the tournament. Did you expect?
– Rather yes. But this is the first such award for me in a major tournament. I will cherish her very much.
– Everyone who personally attended the matches in Krylatskoye could see your pre-match warm-up: dribbling with two balls and hand transfer. According to the results, is it useful?
– Yes! Thanks to individual coach Vasily Prokofiev, who came to our club, to the men’s team. He is a great specialist, we recently worked with him, but I really like everything. And these exercises really help to get in tune with the game: dribbling, passing… Everything I need in a match, I practice before it starts. And then it becomes easier to apply all this on the site.
– Today, you surprised everyone, especially your rivals…
– I’m in shock!
Have you been underestimated? Aren’t you afraid that it “no longer works”?
– I think, yes, underrated. Not me, but the whole team. I hope this will not happen again and that we will be taken seriously.
– In the summer, you first participated in the gathering of the national team. How do you like this experience?
– A very unexpected challenge. I understand that this gathering was not for the main team and was more dedicated to viewing contestants. Of course, there wasn’t enough time to get used to the players and the coach. But I liked everything, both the work and the atmosphere. If they call back, I’m ready for anything.
