The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has opened an investigation into the incident at the European Championship match between Turkish national teams and Georgia according to the organization’s website.
The match ended after two overtime with the victory of the Georgian team (88:83). turkish basketball player Furkan Korkmaz reported that he was attacked by three Georgian national team players, as well as two guards, in the room under the stands.
– An investigation is currently underway regarding activities in the team areas and on the pitch involving players and delegation members from both teams. Upon completion of the investigation, the competent FIBA authorities will decide on the disciplinary measures,” FIBA said in a statement.
