In Group D, the Serbs confidently defeated Poland (96:69) and with five wins in five matches they took first place in the standings. Denver center Nikola Jokic scored 19 points for Serbia.
In Group C, the Italians, who had secured their place in the playoffs even before this match, beat tournament outsiders Great Britain (90:56).
Earlier on Friday, Finland won against the Netherlands (88:67), Croatia – Ukraine (90:85), Greece – Estonia (90:69) and Czech Republic – Israel (88:77).
Thus, at the stage of the 1/8 finals, the matches of which will be held on September 10 and 11, the following pairs of opponents were formed: Germany – Montenegro, Greece – Czech Republic, Spain – Lithuania, Finland – Croatia, Slovenia – Belgium, Ukraine – Poland, Turkey – France, Serbia – Italy.
