The NBA has established violations of the standards of conduct in the workplace
Owner Phoenix Suns Robert Sarver was suspended from his position in the team for a year. The businessman was also fined $10 million for a “clear violation” of workplace standards.
The NBA launched an investigation against Sarver in November 2021 following numerous allegations of racism by the Phoenix owner. The association revealed facts of insults by a businessman on racial grounds, as well as indecent behavior towards female employees.
The NBA said Sarver cooperated with the investigation. It is reported that the businessman considers the punishment too harsh and intends to challenge it.
Phoenix was ranked first in the Western Conference standings in the NBA. Suns coach Monty Williams has been named the 2021-22 NBA Regular Season Coach of the Year. In the playoffs, the team reached the conference semifinals, losing to Dallas.
The new NBA season starts on October 19th.
