So far, 8 clubs have confirmed participation in the Super League
FBU Secretary General Vladimir Drabikovsky commented on the upcoming season in the Super League. According to him, the federation is waiting for a response from two clubs – Dnipro and Khimik.
“8 teams have already confirmed their participation in the Super League. We expect that two more clubs will submit applications by the September 23 deadline – these are Dnepr and Khimik.
“Kharkov Sokols confirmed participation in the second division, Odessa did not give us a final answer, Ternopil, unfortunately, they will miss the championship due to financial problems – the club president took a “time out” during the war.
As for the women’s championship, its start, according to Drabikovsky, is planned by the end of October. 10-12 teams will play in the league, since most of the athletes left Ukraine with the start of the war.
Recall that the FBU clubs approved the holding of the Superleague regular season in four rounds without a playoff. The competition will be held without spectators in the bubble format, which was used during the coronavirus pandemic.
In the new season of Superleague 2022/23, Prometheus, Budivelnik, Kyiv-Basket, Zaporizhia, Cherkasy Mavpy, Stary Lutsk, Kryvbas and MBK Nikolaev have already confirmed their participation.
The 2021-22 season in the Super League was stopped due to a full-scale Russian invasion in February at the regular season stage. The winners at the end of the season were not awarded.
