FBU approves Super League 2022/23 in bubble format

The champion will be determined at the end of the regular season.

Basketball Federation of Ukraine (FBU) approved the rules for the upcoming season Super League 2022/23. More detailed regulatory information on holding the championship of Ukraine during martial law can be seen here.

The teams will play four rounds of the regular season without a playoff round. Competitions will be held in the “bubble” format and without the presence of spectators in the stands of sports halls.

Participating clubs have the right to enter no more than 30 players for the season. Also, matches of the Ukrainian Championship will begin no earlier than 10:00 and must end before 21:00.

The financial contribution of the clubs has also been determined. To participate in the upcoming championship of Ukraine, clubs must pay an amount of 40,000 hryvnia.

Recall that in the new season of the Superleague 2022/23, Prometheus, Budivelnik, Kyiv-Basket, Zaporizhia, Cherkasy Mavpy, Stary Lutsk, Kryvbas and MBK Nikolaev have already confirmed their participation.

The FBU is waiting for a response from two clubs – Dnipro and Khimik. Ternopil will miss the season, BC Odessa did not give a final answer, and Kharkov Sokols will spend the next season in the second division of the country.

The 2021-22 season in the Super League was stopped due to a full-scale Russian invasion in February at the regular season stage. The winners at the end of the season were not awarded.
