Such a major defeat of the French can be considered a surprise, because in the quarterfinals the Polish team was able to defeat a very strong Slovenian team (90:87), which was predicted for a place in the 1/2 final. However, this was not the Poles’ first failure in the current league. In the group stage, the team of Igor Milicic was behind the Finnish team with a difference of 30 points, and with a difference of 27 points – the Serbs.
If we talk about personal meetings of the teams, then here the advantage of the Germans is obvious. For example, in the last five matches, the Poles could win only once, and that was in 2017.
