NBA: Warriors’ Gary Payton II suffers fractured elbow

Warriors guard Gary Payton II was injured after a serious foul by Memphis Grizzlies’ Dillon Brooks in a game in the NBA playoffs.

Last Tuesday, the 3rd, Gary Payton IIof Golden State Warriorshad his elbow fractured in a match against Memphis Grizzlies for the 2021/2022 NBA Playoffs. The injury occurred in a more aggressive foul by Dillon Brooks. The Tennessee team’s guard was ejected from the game after the action.

The event took place in an attempt on a layup by Payton, after having managed to penetrate the opponent’s defense. Brooks ended up hitting the player of the warriors on the head, which he fell and used his elbow to support himself and cushion the impact. The Warriors commander also highlighted the battle faced by Payton to remain part of the world’s basketball elite, after passing through the G League. “Gary has been struggling for six years trying to get a place in this league, and he had finally found a home. He worked an enormity to be here today”vented.

“The playoffs were supposed to be the best time of his life, but a guy came out of nowhere and hit his head while he was in the air. You just don’t do that to anyone.”. At the end of the game, Memphis took the best by the score of 106 to 101 and equalized the series with the team of Stephen Curry in the Western Conference semifinals.
