New York Knicks confirm Mikhailyuk signing

Ukrainian quickly found a new team after leaving Toronto

NBA club New York Knicks announced the transfer of the Ukrainian defender Svyatoslav Mikhailyuk.

“Welcome to New York Holy,” the club tweeted.

Earlier it was reported that 25-year-old Mikhailyuk agreed a deal with the New York Knicks. The player will sign a one-year contract.

In June, Mykhailiuk took a player option and extended his contract with the Toronto Raptors. His salary in the Toronto camp was supposed to be $ 1.9 million, but in late August, the Raptors abandoned the player.

Mikhailyuk played 56 games for the Raptors last season, averaging 4.6 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.

Last season was the fourth for the Ukrainian in the NBA. The Raptors and Mikhailyuk advanced to the NBA Playoffs, where they were eliminated in the first round by the Philadelphia 76ers (2:4).

The new 2022-23 NBA season starts on October 18, 2022. The regular season will run until April 9, 2023, with the first leg of the playoff final scheduled for June 1.
