Prometheus is not going to participate in the championship of the Ukrainian Superleague

The reason for the refusal is an overestimated application fee from the FBU

Prometheus not going to play basketball championship of Ukraine (Super League) 2022/23. This was announced by the president of the club Vladimir Dubinsky.

According to him, the reason for the refusal is the requirement from the Basketball Federation of Ukraine to pay an application fee for the national championship in the amount of 4.5 million hryvnias. At the same time, for all other clubs, the fee is set at 40,000 hryvnia.

“Prometheus is not going to participate in the championship of Ukraine next season if the FBU does not eliminate manifestations of discrimination against our club,” the statement says.

How claims telegram channel proshutabasketball, the Federation previously motivated a similar amount by the participation of Prometheus in the European Cup tournament “not under the auspices of FIBA” – the Eurocup.

Earlier, the FBU approved the regulations for the upcoming 2022/23 Super League season.

In the new season, Prometheus will play in the Eurocup group stage and in the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League.
