Hoverla took the place of Kryvbas
Basketball Federation of Ukraine announced the list of participants Super League 2023. In total, applications were submitted by September 23 10 clubs.
FBU notes that Prometheus did not withdraw his previously submitted application for participation in the championship of Ukraine. The same situation with MBK Nikolaev.
Kryvbas became the only club that withdrew its application for participation in the Super League. In fact, Ivano-Frankivsk Hoverla will take its place in the main basketball division of Ukraine. The place of the Yuzhnensk Chemist in the Superleague will be taken by the representative of the Odessa region – BIPA-Odessa region.
Earlier it was reported that Prometheus is not going to participate in the championship of the Ukrainian Superleague. The reason for the refusal is an overestimated application fee from the FBU. Instead of 40 thousand hryvnias, the FBU demands 4.5 million from Prometheus.
Also, MBK Nikolaev threatened to withdraw from the tournament if Prometheus did not take part in the next season. The FBU regarded the statement of the Nikolaev residents as blackmail and manipulation on the part of Prometheus.
Teams that have applied for participation in the Ukrainian Championship must pay fees by October 10 and submit lists of players by October 15.
