Kevin Durantplayer of NBA fur Brooklyn Nets, was candid about his desire to have been traded by the franchise during the last off-season. shirt 7 left the Golden State Warriors in 2019 and went on to defend the New York team since then. However, the All-Star took the opportunity to talk about the fears he felt about remaining in his current team.

“I want to be in a stable environment as we try to build a champion culture”explained Durant. “I had doubts about this scenario in Brooklyn and so I voiced that concern to Joe [Tsai] (team owner). I made a four-year commitment to this franchise, but a number of uncertainties have surfaced in our team over the past season.”

The player also completed, noting that he would not be dissatisfied with the final outcome of the conflict; the 33-year-old ended up staying in Brooklyn: “We entered into an agreement that, in short, the best thing for everyone would be to move forward. I like the moves that Sean [Marks] closed in the off-season and changes in the team. I know we screwed things up last season, but it’s not about that anymore. I have faith that the team and I have the same goals going forward.”

Although he tried to force his way out of the Nets, the winger said he recognized the franchise’s stance, which insisted he stay: “I’m certainly not disappointed that it wasn’t traded. We still have a great team that can compete. Also, I know I’m too good for one team to just ‘give’ me to another. I admire the stance of Joe and Sean (general manager) in this impasse, as they came to me and said it was too valuable to trade.”
