Georgy Stupenchuk became the new coach of Cherkasy Mavp

Mostly the team will consist of new players

New head coach Cherkasy Mavp became Georgy Stepenchuk. The mentor spoke about how the team will be completed for the new season Super League 2022/23.

“I want to do my best. Currently, there is only a process of recruitment, a process of selecting people. But I hope it will end as soon as possible and it will be possible to start full-fledged training.

Mostly there will be new players. We hope that Nikita Ruslov will return. Perhaps in the coming days, this will be the help of an experienced player.”

“We need tall players. Will seek! According to conversations with coaches of other teams, the situation is the same as ours. Mostly youth. There are very few players with experience.”

“It is not known how the issue of Nikolaev, Krivoy Rog and Zaporozhye will be resolved. If they refuse to play in the Superleague, then perhaps more experienced players will enter the market. But for now, this is the situation. At the moment we are looking for players with experience like all other clubs.

Stupenchuk began his coaching career in 2001 in Al-Manama, Bahrain. In Ukraine, he worked with the Dnieper, Dnepr-Azot, Kirovograd, the Golden Age. Since 2018, he has been a member of the coaching staff of the Cherkasy Mavp.

Mavps have confirmed their participation in the Super League 2022/23. Recall that the regular season will be held in four rounds in the bubble format without a playoff round.

The 2021-22 season in the Super League was stopped due to a full-scale Russian invasion in February at the regular season stage. The winners at the end of the season were not awarded.
