FK Bodo/Glimt drew 3-3 away to Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League third qualifying round tie, played in Belgium.
Patrick Berg put Bodo/Glimt ahead in the 20th minute with a free kick. Raul Florucz equalized five minutes later with a volley from outside the penalty area.
Bodo/Glimt retake the lead before halftime chaos
Ole Blomberg restored Bodo/Glimt's lead in the 29th minute, converting a penalty. Union Saint-Gilloise leveled again in stoppage time before the break, when Guilherme Smith crossed into the box for Florucz to score his second goal of the match, making it 2-2.
The second half was quieter, with both sides focused mainly on defense. The visitors did not manage a shot until a few minutes before the end of the match.
Late goals seal the 3-3 draw
Promise David put Union Saint-Gilloise ahead in the closing stages, striking from the edge of the penalty area with the ball deflecting off the post and into the net. In the 91st minute, Bodo/Glimt won a free kick, and Odin Bjortuft rose highest to head the ball past the home goalkeeper for the 3-3 final score.
The draw puts the Norwegian side in the stronger position ahead of the return leg. Bodo/Glimt failed to defend their Norwegian league title last season, finishing one point behind Viking, which meant they entered Champions League qualifying at the third round stage. The club reached the Europa League semifinals in the 2024/25 season, losing to Tottenham Hotspur, and advanced to the Champions League round of 16 last season after beating Manchester City 3-1 and Atletico Madrid 2-1 in the league phase, before losing to Sporting.
