The Briton does not regret his previous statements that the Ukrainian was awarded victory because of the war
Former WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) said he does not regret his previous words to the WBC, IBO, WBA and WBO heavyweight title holder Alexandra Usika (22-0, 14 KOs). Previously, the Briton stated that Usik was awarded victory in their first fight because of Russia’s war in Ukraine.
“No, I don’t regret anything. Why should I be sorry? It was a close fight, the referee raised Usyk’s hand, I give him credit and I’m not looking for excuses. He beat me fairly.”
“I’m sure I won, but that’s just my opinion. Everyone has their own opinion. But he won, and I congratulate him on this. I kissed his cross and thanked him very much. Now we have one more fight, that’s all.”
“There is no animosity. I don’t hate Usyk. He is a good God-fearing Christian, family man. Why should I hate him? He helped me make millions of dollars – I love him! Do you know what I mean? He is a boxer, I am also a boxer. And we had a great fight.”

Let us remember that on the night of May 18-19, Usik inflicted the first defeat in his professional career on Tyson in a fight that took place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). The victory was awarded to the Ukrainian by a split decision: 115-112, 113-114 and 114-113.
An agreement has been concluded between Usik and Fury for a re-fight. The “Gypsy King” has officially activated the rematch option.
The second fight between Alexander and Tyson will take place on December 21, 2024 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman said he would seek the introduction of video replays in this fight.
At the end of October, the first press conference and duel of the boxers’ views took place in London. Usik appeared in public to the song “Ave Maria” in the extravagant image of the hero of the computer game series Hitman. Fury came out to the song “Barbie Girl.” The event was hosted by legendary ring announcer Michael Buffer.
