Daily Mail Sport readers selected their 26-man England squad for this summer's World Cup ahead of manager Thomas Tuchel's official squad announcement on Friday.
The tournament will be hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico. Readers backed Harry Maguire, Phil Foden, Cole Palmer and Morgan Gibbs-White for inclusion, despite expectations that all four big-name stars could miss out on selection.
Maguire received 72.9 per cent of reader votes to rank as the 14th most selected player, while Foden finished 16th with 71.5 per cent support. Gibbs-White featured in 70.5 per cent of fan squads, and Palmer was included by 65.9 per cent of voters.
In goal, supporters selected Jordan Pickford, Dean Henderson and Nick Pope. Pickford remained the clear first choice goalkeeper after being picked by 97.7 per cent of voters, making him the third most selected player overall.
Defensive and Midfield Selections
In defence, readers chose central defenders Marc Guehi, Ezri Konsa, John Stones and Maguire. Right-back spots went to Reece James and Real Madrid star Trent Alexander-Arnold. Alexander-Arnold earned 67 per cent fan backing despite Tuchel omitting him from the squad for pre-World Cup friendlies in March, leaving him with just a single substitute appearance against Andorra under the manager. Man City defender Nico O'Reilly and Newcastle left-back Lewis Hall were selected after impressive seasons.
The midfield voting saw Declan Rice, Jude Bellingham, Morgan Rogers, Elliot Anderson, Kobbie Mainoo, Foden and Gibbs-White selected to battle for positions. Rice was the second most selected player overall, featuring in 98 per cent of reader squads.
Attacking Options and Exclusions
England captain Harry Kane emerged as the most selected player in the entire poll, chosen by 98.8 per cent of voters as he prepares to lead the line. The remaining attacking spots went to Bukayo Saka, Marcus Rashford, Eberechi Eze, Ollie Watkins, Palmer, Anthony Gordon and Jarrod Bowen.
Despite Arsenal winning the title, readers omitted Arsenal players Noni Madueke and Myles Lewis-Skelly from their final 26-man squads.
