Neymar will sign for Major League Soccer side Inter Miami in January after his Santos contract expires, according to former Brazil international Felipe Melo.
The 34-year-old's contract at his boyhood club is set to expire in December, and he has previously indicated he could retire from the game entirely when that happens. Melo, who played 22 times for Brazil, claims Neymar will instead link up with his former Barcelona team-mates Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez in Miami from the start of next year.
"I talked to a friend of mine who passed me some news about Santos before," Melo said on YouTube. "He told me Neymar is going to play in Miami. Starting in January, Neymar is going to Miami. If it happens, I was the first one to break the news here. Let's wait and see what happens."
Neymar, Messi and Suarez formed the trio nicknamed "MSN" at Barcelona for three seasons before Neymar left for Paris Saint-Germain for £198million.

Together, the three scored 363 goals between them across three seasons. In their first season as a trio they combined for 122 goals and won the Champions League, a trophy Barcelona have not won since.
Messi joined David Beckham's Inter Miami project in 2023 after two difficult years in Paris alongside Neymar, and has since scored 92 goals in 106 appearances for the club. Suarez joined the same year and has scored 52 times in the pink shirt.
Neymar's uncertain future
Despite the links to Miami, Neymar admitted he could end his playing career in December when his Santos contract expires, speaking ahead of a Brazilian Cup match against Remo after which he was involved in a furious altercation with opposition officials.
Neymar returned to Santos from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal in January 2025 and has scored 14 goals in 29 league appearances since. He retired from international football last month after breaking down in tears on the pitch following Brazil's World Cup exit.
"I'm not thinking about stopping, nor do I know how long I'll carry on," Neymar said in a video posted to his YouTube channel. "I have a contract with Santos until December. I intend to see it through, to honour the Santos shirt as best I can, and then I'll think about it when my contract ends... whether I stay at Santos, move on, stop playing or carry on. I really don't know what I'm going to do. There's still a long way to go until December, so let's take it one step at a time."
