The Amsterdam club won its 36th championship in club history ahead of schedule and the third under the leadership of ten Hag.

Ajax became Dutch champions for the 36th time. It happened earlier in the schedule, a round before the end of the championship, after Heerenveen’s 5: 0 defeat at home.

It should be noted that for team coach Eric Ten Hag this is the third league title with the club. So, he fulfilled his promise to finally defend Eredivisie champion status at Ajax. This summer, the coach will move to the Premier League, where he will lead Manchester United.

According to Dutch publication De Telegraaf, Ten Hag should be replaced as head coach in Amsterdam by current Brugge boss Alfred Schroeder.

The 49-year-old specialist has already reached an agreement with the club on a contract for two seasons. Note that Schroeder previously worked at Ajax as an assistant to Ten Hag in the 2018/19 season.
