Wirth: We felt confident in our abilities after Vovchenko’s free-kick goal

Veres beat Lviv 3-1

Veres’ mentor Yuri Wirth shared his impressions of the game with PFC Lviv (3:1). The coach of the Rivne club stressed that both teams tried to show character.

“A great win backed by a very good game. Completely satisfied with the performance of the team. Despite the missed goal.

“We analyzed the standards performed by the Lviv club. We knew that they were dangerous in this component of the game. But we reacted very well to the conceded goal. And they immediately scored back. It was very important.”

“Then we were in complete control of the game. They worked great on the field, attacked, created chances. Great first half for us.”

“After the break there was a lot of struggle. Both teams tried to show character. A goal from a free-kick allowed us to tip the scales in our direction. We felt confident in our abilities. We scored a very cool third goal. And then we played on the result and didn’t let our rivals create anything else.”

“Today we played without two key players: Gennady Pasich and Vitaly Dakhnovsky. But Vlad Sharay and Mikhail Sergiychuk replaced them perfectly. We have a small group of performers. But they are all equal and interchangeable. I’m glad that everyone is working and trying to prove that they should play at the start.”

For Veres, this victory was the first in the last four matches. Virta’s team is in third place in the UPL standings.

In the ninth round of the Ukrainian Championship, Veres will host Zorya at home on October 23.
