Ukrainian says he needs a title fight again
Former world champion Vasily Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs) talked about preparing for the fight against the American Jemaine Ortiz (16-0-1, 8 KOs).
“I am preparing to accept my role. It is very important. This is a great motivation, and now I have one more step to go, and I am preparing for it. I train very hard, as always, and focus very seriously on the opponent. I can predict that I will show my maximum.”
“I think Ortiz is a very, very good guy. I had a great relationship with him because he was in my camp and he helped me prepare for the Richard Commey fight.”
“It’s been about ten years since I started my professional career. I have a goal in my head and heart and I am preparing for this moment and I need this chance again.”
Recall that the Ukrainian boxer will return to the ring on October 29. Lomachenko’s fight with Jemaine Ortiz will take place at the Hulu Theater in Madison Square Garden in New York.
Lomachenko fought his last fight in December last year, defeating Richard Commey by unanimous decision. Subsequently, Vasily could have fought George Kambosos, but he refused it against the backdrop of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
