Shakhtar defender Vitao intends to stay at Internacional after the end of the loan agreement

Previously, the Brazilian club announced its desire to buy out the player’s contract.

Defender Vitao intends to stay in Internacionale after the end of the lease.

“This is no secret to anyone. My desire is to stay. I have determined a lot since I arrived. I am very happy here and so is my family.”

“It depends not only on me. I want to keep doing my job. I hope everything goes as smoothly as possible, but it’s not that easy. If I stay, I will be very proud. If that doesn’t happen, I’ll leave with my head held high, remembering that I gave my best.”

The Brazilian has a contract with miner until the summer of 2024. In April, the defender took advantage of FIFA’s contract suspension rule and went on loan to Internacional until 30 June. And then he continued the lease for another year – until June 2023.

In the summer, the Pitmen demanded that Vitao return to the team, but the player remained in Brazil. In turn, Internacional considered the possibility of buying out the defender’s contract for 2.5 million euros.

This season, Vitao has made 32 appearances for Colorado in all competitions and scored a goal.

Recall that two former Shakhtar midfielders Tyson and Alan Patrick, as well as former Dynamo player Carlos de Pena, play for Internacional. The Colorados are in second place in Brazil’s Serie A.
