Ukrainian athlete Sergei Kulish won the 2022 World Shooting Championship.
Kulish performed in rifle shooting from three positions from 50 meters. In the shootout for the “gold” Ukrainian ahead of the Pole Tomasz Bartnik.
The victory at the 2022 World Cup allowed Kulish to win an unnamed license for the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games, which will be held in Paris.
In total, Ukraine has already won eight medals at the 2022 World Cup. Viktor Bankin was third in the 50m pistol shooting, and Ivan Tkalenko, Alexey Vyatchin and Daniil Grinik in the team became silver medalists in the rifle (50m, three positions).
Pavel Korostylev won a bronze medal in the 10m air pistol and a gold medal in the 25m standard small caliber pistol. Also, Korostylev, together with Elena Kostevich, won bronze in the mixed doubles in a standard 25-meter small-caliber pistol.
Another award is the silver of Sergey Kulish and Daria Tikhova in mixed competitions. And Yulia Korostyleva and Maxim Gorodinets won gold in the competition in rapid fire from a small-caliber pistol from 25 meters.
As for the Olympic licenses for Ukraine, in addition to the success of Kulish, our country will be represented in Paris in women’s trap shooting, as well as men’s air pistol shooting from 10 meters.
The 2022 World Shooting Championship takes place in Cairo from 12 to 25 October.
