Shevchenko wins Golden Boy Career Award

The award was given to a Ukrainian for an outstanding career and commitment to his people and the world

Legendary Ukrainian footballer and former head coach of the national football team Andrey Shevchenko became the winner in the category Career Award at the annual award Golden Boy-2022.

The jury noted the outstanding career of the Ukrainian Ballon d’Or winner. Also, the organizers of the award highlighted the daily commitment of the ex-football player to the people of Ukraine and the world.

Recall the prize Golden Boy-2022 The best young player in Europe was awarded to Barcelona midfielder Gavi. Dynamo defender Ilya Zabarny was included in the list of the best 100 young players.

In May, Shevchenko became the first ambassador of the UNITED24 presidential initiative, which is designed to help Ukraine fight the Russian invasion. He also takes part in charity matches and projects to raise funds to help his native country.

The ex-coach of the Ukrainian national team joined the Tribune of Heroes charity foundation in October and met with the families of Ukrainian ultras. Shevchenko donated 400,000 hryvnias to the project.
