Athletistic/ Football. AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli has said Les Rouge et Noir and France goalkeeper Mike Meignan will miss the 2022 World Cup due to a recurrence of the injury.

“We tried to assess the situation as best we could. Mike insisted on getting back on the pitch as soon as possible. Everything was fine, but he injured another muscle. Unfortunately, I know he will have to out until January,” Pioli quotes Football Italia.

The 27-year-old Frenchman suffered a calf injury in training as he prepared to return to AC Milan after picking up the injury in the 2-0 Nations League game against Austria on 22 september.

The 2022 World Cup in Qatar begins on November 20.
