Football events to help raise funds for affected Ukrainians
President of the Ukrainian Football Association Andrey Pavelko I am sure that participation in the preparation for 2030 FIFA World Cup will help Ukraine during the war and will allow to overcome the consequences of Russian aggression.
“Thanks to Ukraine’s participation in the preparations for the 2030 World Cup, we will continue to rally around the entire civilized world. Let us continue to speak even louder and frankly about the war on the highest international platforms in order to stop it as quickly as possible. Stop the war and save Ukraine with our common victory.”
“At this stage, it is very important to hear and see the full support of our country from foreign colleagues. Thanks to the enormous support of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, despite the war, during the war and against the war, we revived the championship of Ukraine. Our football united millions of fans, made us even more united, strong and invincible.”
“Numerous charitable football events help Ukrainians raise funds to support the military, displaced families, for the treatment of children crippled by the war and their rehabilitation. And this is the real and daily contribution of football against the war and its terrible consequences in Ukraine.”
Earlier, UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin said that Ukraine’s participation in the bid to host the 2030 World Cup will symbolically make the competition a world tournament. At the same time, Čeferin does not yet know how many matches our country will host if successful.
In October, Ukraine officially joined the joint bid of Spain and Portugal to host the 2030 World Cup. According to the preliminary plan, our country will host one of the groups at the World Cup.
