Former Japanese footballer dies aged 33 after brain surgery

Former Japan national team striker and Tegawaharo Miyazaki Kudo Masato died at the age of 32, according to the press service of the football club.

Kudo was diagnosed with hydrocephalus, the athlete was hospitalized on October 3. The footballer was in intensive care after brain surgery, he died on Friday.

Masato had a significant impact on the Japanese championship. He played for the national team and had an excellent record, but remained modest.

Kudo cared about his teammates, the club and the fans. We are devastated that such a great player has passed away so soon,” said Tegewaharo Miyazaki chairman Keith Nimura.

Previously, Kudo played for MLS club Vancouver and also defended the colors of Sanfrecce in the Japanese championship. The striker has played four matches for the national team and scored two goals.
