Bayern Munich coach Julien Nagelsmann clarified that Gavi received the Golden Boy Award for Europe’s Under-21 Footballer of the Year because he plays for Barcelona.
Bundesliga players Jamal Musiala and Jude Bellingham were also included in the top four young players.
“For me, Musiala and Bellingham have had a better season than Gavi.
Gavi is a really interesting player, last year he played 34 games for a very big club. Obviously, that was one of the reasons he won. But he is also an exceptional player. I don’t want to have any problems with Barcelona, he’s a great player and I’m happy for him too,” Nagelsmann said.
