‘We all have knockouts’ – Klopp backs Gerrard

Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp talk about resignation Stephane Gerard of Aston Villa.

I’m sure he’ll come back after that. Always followed by him, today we had a little exchange of views, but nothing too deep or long conversation. I can imagine it was a disappointment for him because of the ambition he had.

We don’t have to worry about Stevie, he’s known the game long enough to be aware of moments like this. We all get knockouts. It all depends on how you react. It happens to great coaches, some had to leave their club for various reasons. Very often they come back and learn from those moments,” Klopp said.

Gerrard has been in charge of Aston Villa since November 2021. The team are currently 17th in the Premier League table this season.
