October 17 Real Madrid and France team striker Karim Benzema For the first time in his career, he became the owner of the Ballon d’Or – an award for the best football player of the season according to France Football magazine.
According to reports, 89 of the 93 journalists who could vote for the Ballon d’Or voted for Benzema to receive the award. The countries which did not give the first place to the French are the Netherlands, Slovenia, Senegal and Egypt.
As a result of the vote, Benzema scored 549 points, while Sadio Mane, who took second place, had 193 points.
