The day before, the club parted ways with the head coach Valeriy Kryventsov. He took over Metalist 1925 in 2020. Under his leadership, in 2021 the team reached the elite division.
The duties of the head coach of Metalist 1925 will be performed by the former player of the Kharkov club and the Ukrainian national team – Edmar. Another ex-football player of the club, Oleg Golodyuk, will be his assistant.
Metalist 1925 is in 9th place in the UPL. In the next round, the Kharkiv club will play with Zorya on October 28.
