Next fight – October 27 with Liechtenstein

The Ukrainians dominated most of the playing time and were able to turn it into goals towards the end of the first half. In the first half, Matvey Ponomarenko converted a penalty and then scored the second goal six minutes later.
After the break, Ponomarenko scored twice more by winning poker. Only after that did the Ukrainians give their opponents the opportunity to score, the Azerbaijanis scored one of the goals from the penalty spot. Osipenko put an end to the fight by successfully completing the counterattack of the Ukrainians.
In the second match of Group 2, Bosnia and Herzegovina beat Liechtenstein (2:0). It is with Liechtenstein that Ukraine will play in the second round of qualification on October 27. The match with the Bosnians, who host the qualifying matches in group 2, will take place on 30 October.
