Sport Arena – about the most important episodes of the next round of the Ukrainian Championship
Defective championship
Now we are not talking about objective factors caused by a large-scale war unleashed by Russia against our country, and, as a result, holding matches in just a few arenas, constant suspensions of fights due to air raid alerts and other “charms” of military football. And yes, the point that we will note below also depends to a large extent on the situation at the front and in the country.
But still, there are also a lot of questions to the UPL, which compiled the calendar. For now, let’s just state and fix it. Only three out of 16 teams played nine matches according to the calendar! Three clubs played seven matches each, 10 clubs eight each. The ninth round, by the way, also turned out to be incomplete: the match between Minai and Shakhtar was postponed to a later date.
Continuation of the Dynamo crisis
This season is definitely the most difficult for Dynamo Kyiv in the last 10 years. Judge for yourself – the war in our country, the departure of legionnaires, constant travel around Europe and the lack of transfers in the summer off-season, when it was possible and necessary to include newcomers in the squad. But it seems that this is not the only problem. In seven matches played, the white-blues scored only 9 goals. Exactly half of the UPL clubs scored more than Dynamo. Moreover, after seven matches, the people of Kiev have a negative difference between goals scored and conceded. And this is in the championship of Ukraine! This has never happened.
The people of Kiev failed to improve the position and difference in Sunday’s match with Vorskla – just a draw (1:1). And already on Monday, Dynamo went to Chisinau, from where it will take the way to Cyprus. On Thursday, Dynamo have the fight of the year against AEK. What awaits Dynamo on the most beautiful island? Shame or continued struggle in European competition? I would like to see bright football performed by our team. However, Besedin and the company do not give optimism. And it is true.
Retro uniform helped Kryvbas
For the match against Ingulets, the Krivorzh club came out in a special retro uniform dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the club entering the elite division of Ukrainian football. It turned out stylish, but also victorious.

Wards of Yuriy Vernidub won the first match of the season, beating Inhulets minimally. Debelko’s brace brought victory to the Kryvyi Rihs. And three points scored allowed Kryvbas to leave the danger zone, rising to 13th place.
Only two teams remain in the UPL, which have not yet won in the new season: in addition to the already mentioned Ingulets, this is Chernomorets, who tied with Kolos.
Curse of the native Vanguard for Veres
The Rivne club, which has returned to its native stadium, still cannot celebrate the victory at the Avangard. Yuri Wirth’s team played three matches at the rebuilt arena, scoring only one point in them – a draw with Rukh.
In the ninth round, Veres lost to Zara, and before that there was a defeat from Metalist. “The home stadium factor could put pressure on us in the first matches. Unfortunately, we can’t win at home yet. I would like to overcome this band as soon as possible. To feel more confident. But today I have no questions about the game. We didn’t deserve to lose. We didn’t lose to the opponent in anything, except for the result, ”Veres’ mentor Yuriy Wirth summed up after the game.
First retirement of the season
It turned out loud and unexpected. The day before the game (!) with Rukh, Metallist 1925 announced the termination of cooperation with Valery Kriventsov and his coaching staff.
Surprising in this situation is really a lot. Not only was the team left without a headquarters the day before the game, and even in a difficult period in the championship, Kriventsov also gave results: after seven games played, Metalist 1925 had nine points. Plus, it was Kriventsov who brought the club to the Premier League and in the first season, in the unfinished championship due to the large-scale invasion of Russia, he was in 10th place.
Status newcomer Rukh
The signing of any legionnaire in the modern realities of Ukrainian football is already an event. The arrival of a player with experience playing in England and a number of European countries is an act. So to the Nigerian striker Ruha Bright Enobahar – now increased attention.
The 24-year-old Wolverhampton graduate who has played for Coventry, Kilmarnock, Wigan, AEK and a number of other clubs has already been included in Rukh’s UPL squad. It remains to wait for him on the field.
