Shakhtar kept a draw against Celtic

The Champions League match between Shakhtar and Celtic has ended.

The match in the fifth round of the Champions League group stage was perhaps the most important for Shakhtar in the entire tournament.

Igor Jovicevich’s team needs to go unbeaten to ensure themselves access to the playoffs of the European Cup, or rather, the Europa League.

The Croatian specialist was not surprised by the composition, except for the absence of Cannabis and Sikan in the field. In the first half, the Pitmen played honestly not in the best way. Long possession of the ball in their own half, then in their penalty area. Celtic applied pressure, but Shakhtar could not use the free zones.

At the same time, the “Celts” had some good moments, and they even used one of them. A cross from the left flank and a shot after it was blocked by Nikolai Matvienko, but the ball bounced deceptively to Yakumakis, who shot accurately from a steep position and opened the scoring.

In the second half, Shakhtar started the same way, but as time went on, chances started to appear. In the 58th minute, Shakhtar launched a counterattack, Mudryk received the ball in the middle of the field, extended it to a very free kick and suddenly changed the trajectory of movement – he began to run parallel to the goal line and Plus five million: Si Mudryk scored a masterpiece in the Champions League delivering a powerful shot[/link_local]]. The legendary Joe Garth couldn’t get to the ball – 1:1.

Celtic tried to win and exposed the back, which Shakhtar should take advantage of, but…

Mudrik ran away again, he ran out of Garth’s date and couldn’t be bothered and gave it to Sikan. Yes, the move may not have been entirely successful, but a Champions League-level forward should score 10 out of 10 in those moments. But Danilo couldn’t hit the empty net.

The kinovka of the match was very tense, Celtic made attack after attack, serve after serve, but the Pitmen survived. Globally, Sikan’s mistake has no impact – Shakhtar still need to beat Leipzig to finish second – but it will be difficult for the forward of the Ukrainian national team to survive such a mental error.
