Celtic vs Shakhtar will play today, kick-off at 22:00
Midfielder of Shakhtar Artem Bondarenko commented on the upcoming match of the 5th round of the group stage Champions League against Celtic.
“We expect a very difficult game. We learned Celtic and we respect the opponent – they are a good team, showing intense football, creating many chances. Moreover, with the support of their fans, they are able to deliver even more problems. However, we are ready for this and will try to show our game. We have come here for results and are looking forward to taking another step towards our dream of qualifying for the next round of the Champions League.”
“Now we have a very busy schedule – a lot of moves, a lot of matches. And for me, as a player, the decision to move our game to the Premier League gave me more time to rest, because we spend a lot of time on long and difficult journeys. I think it will be good for us because we will be fresher and will be able to show our football.”
Shakhtar’s head coach Igor Jovičević said that his team will stick to its own model of play in the upcoming match against Celtic in the fifth round of the Champions League.
The Pitmen scored five points and are third in Group F. Celtic closes the quartet with one point.
The match will take place in Glasgow on 25 October. The fight starts at 22:00 Kyiv time. The match will be judged by the Dutch referee Serdar Gezubyuyuk.
