Daniil missed a scoring chance in the second half
Midfielder of Shakhtar Mikhail Mudrik appealed to the fans through social networks and called for an end to criticism of the Pitmen’s forward Daniil Sikan.
“I want to ask all my fans to support this Cossack. Everyone has bad days. The way he comes out and with what desire he plays deserves support. Thanks for understanding”.
In the second half, with the score 1:1, Mudrik brought Sikan to an empty net. However, the striker of the Donetsk club from five meters missed the target, unprotected by Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart.
This season, 21-year-old Sikan has scored four goals and one assist in 10 appearances for the Pitmen in all competitions.
In the sixth round of the Champions League, Shakhtar will play against Leipzig, while Celtic will play against Real Madrid. To reach the playoffs of the Champions League, the Pitmen will only be satisfied with a victory.
