Liverpool advance to Champions League knockout stage with away win against Ajax

“Liverpool” won big Ajax in the away match of the 5th round of the Champions League group stage.

The Group A match took place at the Amsterdam Arena and ended with the score 3:0. In the first half, Mohamed Salah scored for the guests, the Egyptian received a pass from Jordan Henderson and beat the Ajax keeper who came out the door.

In the second half of the game, Liverpool scored two quick goals. First, striker Darwin Nunez doubled the guests’ advantage after a corner kick, and midfielder Harvey Elliott made it big with a powerful shot into the corner near the goal.

Jurgen Klopp’s side secured their place in the Champions League qualifiers with 12 points. Ajax still have 3 points.

In another game Naples who had already managed to get out of the group, defeated Rangers (3-0) thanks to a double from Giovanni Simeone and a goal from Leo Estigor. To the credit of the Neapolitans 15 points, the Scots did not score any points.
