Semak told how Zenit players managed to become Super League champions earlier than expected

Head Coach “Zenith” Sergei Semak shared her impressions of her participation in the Women’s Superleague “Zenith” gold medal ceremony and noted that team spirit helped the players achieve success.

The Saint Petersburg club became Russian champions ahead of schedule, having played on October 15 in a draw with Rostov. The award ceremony took place on Friday in Saint Petersburg at the Smena stadium after the game of the 5th round of the Super League finals, in which Zenit drew with CSKA Moscow (1-1) . Along with Semak, Zenit CEO Alexander Medvedev, chairman of the club’s board of directors Elena Ilyukhina, coach of the men’s team Anatoly Timoshchuk, as well as footballers Dejan Lovren and Alexander Erokhin took part in the ceremony .

– You participated in the women’s “Zénith” award ceremony with gold medals. What emotions did you feel?

“It’s a vacation feeling for the girls who have been working towards this achievement all season. And they went really quite confident. Big season. It’s not that easy – we know that ourselves. And, of course, that team spirit and unity made it so easy to go the whole distance. It’s incredible. We sincerely congratulate the girls and rejoice in their emotions! We are enjoying the holidays that are happening now,” Semak told .
